Chef David, with an early love for Oriental cuisine and an impressive professional history, is about to redefine your idea of private dining. Imagine this:
You have a dinner date.
You want to surprise your partner and yourself with something very special, say a combination of culinary extravaganzas and the relaxed feeling of well-being.
While a private chef prepares an exquisite dinner in your kitchen, a masseuse teaches you the techniques of a 4-hands massage, assisted alternatively by you and your loved one. The dinner is ready, the candle-lighted table set up, the wines poured, the masseuse and the chef discreetly disappear and leave the rest of the evening to your imagination. Next morning, you find kitchen and dining room properly cleaned; what a treat!
David started cooking at the age of sixteen. Later he travelled to Japan and Thailand learning family recipes, and visited acclaimed restaurants in Paris, London, Amsterdam, New York, Tokyo, Bangkok and Prague, developing an excellent taste.
Upon moving to the UK, David broadened his know-how by completing a ”Cordon Bleu -style cooking course” and refining his cutting, cooking and presentation techniques at the Michelin-starred Japanese fusion restaurant Nobu by world famous chef Nobu Matsuhisa. David continued his quest in London at Michelin-starred The Fat Duck restaurant, voted one of the best restaurants in the world in 2005, in Jamie Oliver’s catering company and the five-star Landmark London Hotel, among others.
David, as a private chef, cooked for royalty, celebrities and successful businessmen in London, the French Riviera and the Bahamas, and catered for private events and functions. A cocktail party for 200 guests at the Malaysian Embassy in Paris was one of his biggest success stories.
The next destination was the Côte d’Azur, where he still offers his exquisite dishes and secret recipes.
His current project Foodies Cooking offers classes and catering to individuals and smaller groups, willing to learn how to cook or want to host parties without the manifold work involved. Foodies Cooking was born from Chef David’s love for Oriental food, especially Thai and Japanese with a unique quality of pleasing both, the eye and the taste-buds. David works hand in hand with his customers at the comfort of their home in English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Japanese and Czech. He explains where to find the best ingredients and shares unusual cooking techniques.
Some of David’s most popular and requested dishes are the following:
